I’ve got a 2018 on order and am shopping racks/boxes. Anyone having or hearing of any issues using j-bolts or other attachment hardware clamping under the bed lip? Just wondering how the aluminum bed is holding up.
Crickets chirping in this thread! I guess no news is good news as far as aluminum is concerned! Now if I can just reach anything in the toolbox on this ridiculously tall bed!

Im not too terribly worried about it. I mounted my rack and Box with SST bolts and wrapped the bolts and washers under the rail with .10mil tape. I drilled through the plastic and aluminum.
On my 99 f150 I had a protech toolbox and headache rack powder coated black. When I rolled the truck the headache rack kept the back of the cab from caving in unlike the front. I will never have another truck with out a protech headache rack again. Ordered one for my new truck yesterday.
That looks sharp! I read a few posts about the truck mistaking the Magnum racks for a trailer when the lights are connected. Have they figured out a fix for that?

the additional lights from the rack caused me to loose the blind spot function also the back up sensorssensors and the truck always thought a trailer was attached. I brought it to a stereo shop in my town , the guys is a wiz at wiring cut into the magnum harness and the factory harness spliced and soldered the break light wires ,all good. Blind spot works, back up sensors work back up camera works properly. I bought the module from etrailer didn't even need it. So if you buy a rack from magnum and I highly recommend them. Just take it to a professional stereo shop and you shold have no problem. I'm not a wireing expert and don't pretend to be lol. So I let the professional handle it. Works great.

There is a fix straight from Magnum. They developed a new harness that plugs in line with the factory tail light harness just above the hitch. Solves all "phantom trailer" symptoms. It's now shipping with all new racks. I had my Magnum built for my old '06, and now that it's on my '17 Magnum still sent me a new harness out free of charge to correct the issue. GREAT company. Will never have another rack other than Magnum MFG.
Man! I love that new mesh insert they're doing. Wish that had been an option a few years ago when I worked with them on my custom rack. That would have been perfect! Looks sweet!

thank you, I'm very happy with the rack and the company
This aluminum rack & toolbox were on my F150. No holes installation. Used a couple sets of toolbox clamps (bought at Lowe's) that clamped down the rack flange sufficiently. Used it occasionally for toting a 32' extension ladder. Bought the TracRac system for my F250 so the uprights slide completely off when not needed.
