As old as it is, EECIV is new to me. I have a couple of questions (the link under tech info to EECIV doesn't work).
I assume that codes are cleared if the battery has been disconnect for some time. Correct?
And I also assume that once ANY code is detected that the "Check Engine" light comes on. Correct?
I ask because I had the battery disconnected for several days as I worked on the instrument cluster and replacing all the burnt out bulbs including the Check Engine one. Just wondering if I need to go through the code reading process or not.

No, some codes won't set the CE light. If there is a problem with the way the engine or trans is running the first step should always be to pull the codes.
