check engine... 2 codes

my check engine light come on. its bin coming on since i bought the truck.. i usually disconnect the battery reset the computer and it would last a couple days till it come on again. But now that i got a X3 i scanned it today.. first time i got code P0000 then tried it again after a 10 min drive and got P0004. my x3 still isnt working rite so hopfully these codes exist?? does anyone no of a web site or wut these codes mean? thanx again

Not sure those #s exist. Look in the tech folder.

P0000 is no code at all or no codes present. Im not sure P0004 is but i bet its something similar.

P0004 - Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit High

P0000 is a "pass" or no codes/problems found DTC, so it is odd that you would have it with the P0004.

One could be a key on engine off test, on could be a key on engine on test. Thats where you could pick up the P0004 codes, or depending on the differnt tests done you could also get that code.

I am a little confused about this code P0004. I thought the 6.0L diesel regulated fuel pressure and not fuel volume. The code P0004 is a generic code for OBD II and is not used by all manufactures. So far the only maker that I have found that uses that code is GM for their fuel systems. I could not find that code in my 2005 service documentation for the 6.0L. It does means what PowerStrokeHD has posted I am just not sure if it applies to the 6.0L. Could be your x3 is putting out a wrong or false code.

i tried with the engine running and got the same code.. to be ohnest with u guys it mite be the x3 not working rite becuase i still have a corupted stock file.. wont hear back from sct till jan 4th so ill try again then after i get my tuner fixed and see if its the same code.
