I understand that. Just trying to give him something to negotiate with to save him some money if he decides to go that route. They tend to go hand in hand.
My dealership tried to sell me a package deal with both together.

-Drivers door would not latch/close. Fiddled with the latch to close it. Happened at the dealer once and then yesterday. Repaired with new parts.

-Drivers seat loose bottom part. They said it was fine, I tightened it myself.

-When cold -30C the truck rear end had a loud bang, enough to knock the snow off the truck. Started out sounding like a mudflap caught in the tire (it wasn't) and then when I slowed to stop at the stop sign the rear end had a loud bang. This happened twice in the same day. They could not find an issue, oil was good, no filings. I suspect the issue was with the rear diff lock selector system.

-Engine revs at 1300rpm upon cold start. If the remote start is used the engine will not idle down like the older models used to, when the remote time is done engine shuts down at high idle, that cannot be good for a diesel but I would be okay to be corrected. Tech said the idle is set from the factory. I said as long as you guys warranty the truck I am good. The engine will not warm up nor will the cab heat up. The only heat I get is from the supplemental cab heater (blow dryer). If I drive about 30 kms I will begin to get heat in the cab. The engine is only heating to 73F and sometimes only 54F. I have to provide video evidence so they believe me.

I love the truck, it drives great, comfortable, but these issues are a pain. I hope yours is much better.
Wow you must of have gotten everyone else's problems... not had any so far. Hope you don't have any more.

BTW, regarding the Rotella T-6 synthetic oil, the Ford extended maintenance plan brochure references a "full synthetic oil option." Do you happen to know if Ford dealers use the Rotella oil - or do they use Ford brand synthetic oil?
You may want to check out Championfordwarranty.com for extended warranty. They were cheaper than Flood for our 8 yr/150k $200 ded exteneed warranty. They are a Lincoln dealer, so I am sure they do regular maintenance plans. You probably will need to call them for a price on one.
