I always go the most I can get. On the 250 diesel I went with the 3.55:1 ratio because the 3.73 is no longer available in the diesel F-250
Same here. Get the 3.55s. Inevitably you will fall for larger tires, or pickup a big trailer, and you will be thankful you got the lower gear. On my 06 I changed from 3.73s to 4.10s when I went to 295/65/20s. I have the same size tire on my 16, and I am glad I got the 3.55s. Luckily the 6.7 has enough torque for it.
I'm working up a build and I wonder if anyone could help with the Why of selecting the available gear ratio choices.
I'm sure others might not know so general info is helpful but in my case...
F350 4x4 Crew Cab DRW that is not destined to tow anything.
Thanks in advance.
If I'm reading this right your looking at a drw and everyone is giving you advice on a srw? Maybe I'm wrong but if your going drw you have 2 gear choices 3:55 and 4:10. Now you say your not towing anything (not sure why the drw ?) if this is the case go with the 3.55 and get the advantage of better mpg

When using Build & Price on Ford website 3:55, 3:73, and 4:10 are offered, also a limited slip version for each.
Reason for DRW is I want the 8 foot bed and I think the long bed crew cab looks a little weird unless it's lifted with different wheels/ tires which I don't want to do. I can fit the truck easily in garage for length and width but don't have much to play with for height. So short answer, I like how it looks.

Ok that's fine. If your going diesel the options are 3.55 or 4.10 that's all go 3.55
If you go gas you get the choice of 3.73 or 4.30 go 4.30 with the weight of that truck
