Does anyone know if they make the drop in molded plastic bed liners for the '79 f150? Doing a fixer up & looking for something cheap for the time being to cover rusted out holes in the bed & still look good.
I believe a bed liner for all the way up through 1996 will fit that '79.
My '77 had a over the rail drop in, a neighbor with a late '80s had a under the lip drop in . We swapped as he wanted an over the rail. I see them in yards, etc ..... had a guy tell me take what I want as he was gonna burn a few .... I took three and used parts for different things ....
I junked a nice one a few years ago because I could not sell it for anything... even $20 would have taken it.
They are a good for for your application. That said, paint or better yet paint + bedliner protects the steel and lets it breath so moisture does not collect. At some point when you can weld up that bed floor you can lose the bedliner insert.
Hey Bigtruck , where are you? I have one here in my yard if you are anywhere near Trenton , Ontario. It came out of a late '80's and fit my '79 perfectly.
