1989 EGR Blockoff
Does anyone know if there are any problems associated with blocking off the egr on an '89 5.8L?
I just got some new Hedman headers and they don't have the connection for the egr tube.

The EGR system is only part of the overall emissions system on the truck. If you remove it without making any other changes then you will most likely have ongoing and persistent pre-ignition (pinging). The re-circulation of the exhaust gases cools the combustion and allows for a leaner fuel mixture. Unless you are prepared to completely reconfigure the motor to pre-emissions specs you will probably have problems.
