The guide I got in the mail last week says the 3" will only be on the F-350/F-450 drw trucks. All others get the 2.5. I emailed weigh-safe to see if they would exchange my 3" for a 2.5". But after this post I'm going to wait until my SRW F-350 diesel shows up to see what I have for a hitch.
I still can't figure out what they are saying on the HD 250 in the guide. If the SB HD 250 get's the 3" in the future (whenever the change takes place) and the SB SRW 350 doesn't, that would make absolutely no sense. But, that is how the 1/5 guide reads. IDK...
Did they ever come out with a definitive tow rating chart for all the configurations? Is a supercab long bed rated any differently than a crew cab short bed?
I know my 12 super cab has a 2" and the crew cabs got 2.5". I had no idea until about two months ago. Now I'm waiting to see how my 17 comes in to see if I missed the cut again...LOL.
Would be nice if they just would standardize the hitch's I really don't like the sleeves so now I have
2014 f-250 regular cab diesel need 2" receivers for that one
Had 3x 2.5" for my 2011 f-350 drw (now paper weights) lol
2017 f-450 new weight safe 3" for it
It's all a little much!!!
I just wish they'd put an option code on the 2.5" and the 3" hitch and make us choose one or the other...If there is a price difference, we can decide ourselves...This option packaging is getting ridiculous.
That's true and I agree it would be a better way to go. However, I am grateful we still get as many individual options as we do. Try getting a high trim level SUV and see how many individual options you can choose. Everything is packaged on so many vehicles these days. It makes the manufacturer more money that way for sure.
