84 f150 ...I am working on my heat and air setup. My blower motor is droping my voltage down .5 and putting a heavy load on the alternator. I have tested 2 same thing with both. Is there a way to add a relay, heavier guage wires and have a high and low setting? Is there a way to get it to blow stronger? And yes the system has been cleaned out. On high it feels weak out of the vents. Searching I see people talking about relay mods but dont show or realy go into detail how to set it up.
I was wondering if a relay would help it blow stronger. The alternator is a 3g 130 amp alternator. As far as the fuse I think I may have accidentally put in a 15 amp fuse.. I think it needs 30. I will check in the morning
I might upgrade the blower to a gm style 1 wire blower motor and run a ground wire from the battery straight to the plate. If its going to tax it like that Id rather have a blower that can at least blow out a candle on high.
If the blower is pulling your system down that much, it's probably working hard. You likely have vacuum or cable actuator issues blocking the air flow.
