The Heat/AC Blower motor stopped working in my 2003 F150 5.4 Supercrew. Fuses are good, I've replaced the resistor and now I'm trying to replace the relay as I'm down to that or the blower motor itself being bad. I managed to find the relay (next to the Hazard Flasher relay) and removed the plastic cover (that was fun!). I can't get the relay out of the block that it's plugged into and can't see if there are clips or something holding it in due to location of the relays. Any Hints on how to remove the relay?
Feel free to expand on that. Both fuses are in tact and I replaced the Blower Motor resistor (which was, as common rusted and crumbled. The high speed fan did not work so it probably wasn't the problem). That leaves the relay the blower fan or the physical switch itself. I'm open to suggestions. I had to get a fuse for my multimeter so I haven't checked voltages to the blower motor yet.
Set MODE switch to any position except OFF.
SPEED switch to lowest setting
Ignition switch to RUN (engine OFF).
Backprobe BN/YE wire at blower connector. Note: If battery voltage, all the fuses, switches, and the relay are okay. If not T/S supply circuit
Backprobe OR/YE wire at blower connector. If zero, blower motor is bad. If battery voltage, voltage divider or ground is open.
Report voltage readings if further analysis is needed.
Anyway, thanks. The part that threw me off was that the control side is a ground based circuit. It rained all afternoon so I haven't installed the motor yet but another reading is continuity between the two posts at the connector on the Motor Blower itself. Old one is open and new one has continuity. Thanks for the help, should fix it when I install the motor tomorrow.
