49 8BA Transmission

Hey guys, I am new to this forum. I currently am looking for a direct fit 3 speed transmission for my 8BA Flathead. Curious if any one has any tips? in the Chicago land area.

I'm not sure which engine this fits but I'm sure that one of our experts on here can help. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-missouri.html

And here is a 4 speed non-synchro https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-in-52-f1.html

Yes, i have a 4 spd non synch from a 52 listed in the 2nd link above. I can attest that it shifts as it should and could be dropped in assuming you have the bellhousing for the 8BA. This comes with the hogshead that should bolt onto your bellhousing. I'm in Pennsylvania though so shipping would be involved. Let me know how you make out with the other poster above and if need be we'll make it work. I don't have it advertised nor am i in a big hurry. PM me should you be interested.

Thank you for the replies. bhailemail, I do have the bellhousing for the 8BA. This is my first real project and have limited experience on fabrication. With the 4 speed, would I have to make modifications to the rear engine/trans mount location?

Petemcl that trans on ebay is sold but was in the town that I live in I emailed him and told him that if the sale fell through that I would take the trans.
