is it possible to install a 390fe with c6 tranny in a 95 f150 4.9 auto?
its not going to be a daily driver just a weekend cruiser and street racer.
I want to humiliate some chevy fans where I live. Do I have to use any of the wires from the computer? I'm gonna have a fuel cell so no need for the stock tanks with the in tank fuel pump. There isn't any emission tests here.
Well, anything is possible if you can fabricate. Weld, grind, etc... The FE series never came in these trucks obviously, so you will have to make all of your own mounts. Then your own fuel system, and I doubt any off the shelf headers will work, so youbwill have to make your own.
If you have the fabrication skills and are just treating the 95 as a shell more or less I suppose it wouldn't be that much worse than swapping in any other engine/trans combo.
It seems to me that it would be easier to hop up an engine that came in these trucks and install that, or even easier find a truck with a the engine/trans combo of your choice already in it and spend your time and money on the power train and not on the swap.
