I tryed to do a search but no luck. I have a friend that has 390 and c6 tranny that he wants to drop into a 72 f-100. What all will he need to do this convertion??

 

it all depends on what was in the truck before.

 

Depends on what engine/tranny were in the truck before....if the same type then the mounts, driveshaft,etc are fine...if not you will need engine mounts, towers, may be able to use the old trans crossmember, driveshaft may have to be adjusted for length, rad,exhuast manifolds..........there must be more.
Alot easier if the truck formerly had an FE/C6 combo. May even have to get new front springs depending on how much the front drops.....FE's are quite heavy

 

You never mentioned what engine & Trans is in the truck now

In searching, did you uses the words > Engine Swap ?

 

its has a 302 and a 4sp standard tranny.

 

you'll have to get the motor mounts from a 360 or a 390, not sure about the crossmemeber. i think it would be the same.

 

the cross member has to be moved forward or backward depending on the length of the x mission and engine. I put a c- behind my 351c and had to move it back 1/2 inch, but was no problem because the holes were already there.
