Hello I have a question. I have a 71 F250 with a 360/390 and a c-6. The motor is sized up I bought the truck this way. I have a 1970 460 and c-6 from a lincoln. Can this be installed and what would I need to do it. Any help would be great.
Thanks
I'm sure you can swap it in. As far as what's needed, probably just your basics from any engine swap. You'll need different motor mounts, accessory brackets, maybe different exhaust manifolds, possibly a different radiator. Most of those depend on how creative you can be with what you already have. As far as for the c-6, you'll probably just have to move the tranney cross-member back a little. You'll also probably have to shorten your rear driveshaft a little and lengthen the front one (if it's a 4x4). None of that if for fact, I've never done that swap personally, but it's just some of the things you'll have to expect in a engine swap.

Hehehehehehehe.
Ive been where you are. My Galaxie originally came with a 390, the same old FE block that your 360 is.
I fabricated new motor mounts myself; if Im not mistaken, theres all sorts of bolt in mounts that you can find for putting that engine in that truck. Summit, Jegs, PAW... etc. mail order, or go to a local speedshop.
I had to shorten my driveline about 8 1/2 inches.. Yours is a truck, so you might have some more room to work with than I did, but you will have to shorten the driveshaft. You will also have to move your trans. support back, about 6-7 inches, depending on how far forward you move the new engine. Once again, my Galaxie aint a truck, but the basics are the same, as the 460/C6 combo is between 8-10 inches longer than the FE-block/C6 combo.
I guess the only thing I can say is it IS possible, with a lil time and some creativity. Good luck!
