TPMS Compatibility Question

Need some help from those in the know here.. I purchased some 20" takeoffs from a 2017 F150 sport with sensors to use as winters. I have a 2016 Expedition which has the apparently older style stem mounted tpms and it turns out these take off sensors are the new TPMS-35 and the learning tool is not reading them. Does anyone know if there is a way to make them work or am I out of luck? I assume the new 2018 Expedition will use these so might just leave them in and live with the light for a few more weeks and revisit in the fall.

From: Hattiesburg, Ms.
Could you retrofit the "old style" TPMS monitors to the new wheels?

Yeah, I could do that but I know I will be looking at an '18 Expy when they come out and assume it will use the new sensors so don't want to have to swap them again. I was surprised that they would be different, guess I should have investigated it sooner. However. seeing as it's only another 2 months or so of snow tires I will probably just live with the errors and deal with it next season if I don't get an '18.
