TPMS sensors and wheel compatability
I got a smokin' deal on a set of 4 - 18" rims and tires from a late 1990s F150. They bolt right on to my 2012 Expedition, but of course there are no TPMS sensors on the wheels.
Can I use the Motorcraft TPMS-12 "valve stem" sensors or do I have to buy the band (TPMS-9) and use the "clip in" sensor (TPMS-4) ?
Do both of these work with the TPMS-19 retraining tool ?

I have the same exact question for my 07 Expedition. I'm about to get new tires and would rather pay $44 from ebay for a set of 4 OEM sensors, then be stuck with the odd band sensor. I already one bad sensor, and with a 9 year old vehicle I don't want deal with sensors dying before my new 60K Michielin LTX tires I plan to put on.
I already checked with Costco, new sensors for them are $37 each but I if bring my new sensors in, they won't charge to install.
My research tells me that both the TPMS-12 "Valve Stem" and the TPMS-4 "CLIP-IN BAND" sensors operate ate 315MHZ and should work, but I'd like confirmation.
