Swapped compressor wheel.

Decided to try a new wheel to see if I can stop the surge during hill climbing with our 5er. Old wheel looked great with no dusting or nicks. New wheel sure has a whirl when it spools up, but sounds cool. Haven't pulled trailer since swap yet. Truck still only has 85k on the clock.

That wheel will stop the surge, but I would of opted for a billet one, they do indeed lower gets and give a bit more boost.

He meant to say EGT's and not gets, probably auto-correct trying to run his life...

What I read is it is a stock for an older model. It has short blades every other blade, one extra blade.

I am in agreement with Adam here that if you are not emotionally attached to the new wheel, send it back and purchase a RiffRaff 4/4 or SPTurboost SPX billet wheel.

They will also cure any surge problems, look good and perform much better.

Funds are a bit tight right now, eventually I plan to do several upgrades and when I do a billet wheel will be on the list.
