I just pulled my H4 bulbs out of my H4 conversion set-up and installed LED bulbs inside.
I also pulled the aftermarket relays out. I don't need them and they were flaky anyway.
With the H-4's and no relays I had to use a 15 amp fuse instead of the 10 amp since they pulled about 10 and 1/2 amps and blew the fuse.
This may have contributed to my alternator wearing out quicker.
So instead of pulling 110 watts I now pull 30 on low beams. Not sure how many on high but it has be lower than 120 the regular H4 bulbs were pulling. I'm guessing way under since I can't find high beam wattage specs.
Now I can use the 10 amp fuse , ditch the relays , save the alt. and have bright lights.

I think there is a nomenclature mix-up
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sealed_beam
So you use 9000 series bulb?
They make LEDs for those too.

I'd be interested to hear how the light output is. I have sealed beams, but I also have a set of Hella Light conversions that I have been thinking about installing with some LED bulbs. I have read mixed reviews about the light output of the LED bulbs. What's your impression of them?
But, so far they sure seem bright.
I'll drive a dark dark road tonight and update you.
The conversion is worth it no matter which bulbs you use.

The light output is great but it is blue. I would not have guessed this.
I prefer a yellower tint.
I went through this when I did my corvette H4 conversion. At 150mph, it matters.
On my van it's fine but I am going to look into seeing what is available.
Cost will make up my mind. If I swap, I'll put the blue ones on my Zuma.
It only goes 35 mph.
FYI: Color Differences of LED Lighting - 2.7K, 3K, 4.3K, 5K, 6K
I can't find squat for plug and play yellow LEDs anywhere near the 8.00 price point.
