hC3Z.6079.A hard to tell from diagram but some gaskets ,clamps. fuel line/rail stuff etc. fors says its a mandatory kit to use on install.
this kit is JUST coming off of back order. 30 or so kits being shipped from vendor this week and some next week
I dunno. Check the title of THIS thread "another one down at 218 miles."
To me, that connotes these trucks are dropping like flies. So I mentioned I have one that has been solid. Of course I realize with tens of thousands of these things being built, individual results may vary. But the point was that the bulk of these are doing just fine.
enough flys that ford is worried . how can one this far along not be verified to be good or bad . whats it been two months now .. glad its not my 100 k fly ...

he actually had it for a week and the oil pressure was intermittently wonky. he has another truck now(not sure of details if we took the hit to please customer or what) . i'm sure ford was in on it also. i stay away from the sales side as much as possible and stay in my parts dept. warranty engine is going in and will be sold as a used vehicle

If Ford produces 150,000 of these trucks per year and the FSA applies to the 1% produced between Feb 16 and Nov 16(10 months). that means there are 1250 trucks that are affected.
The truck I bought was built on 16 November so it was probably on the dealer lot at least since 16 December, it had been sitting there for a few weeks. I spoke with the SM at my dealer and while he was aware of the FSA, he was not entirely familiar with the issue as he thought it only concerned an oil pressure indication not a condition. He was good enough to tell me that the test was not performed on the truck I had identified. They also immediately started to test their own inventory.
How many other dealers are aware enough not to demonstrate the truck prior to performance of this test? The FSA only applies to unsold inventory so for the trucks that are out there, these stories of premature engine failure are are going to continue. Some fraction of that 1250 will have the oil pump replaced prior to any real engine damage occurring, the rest will show up here as another Ford diesel failure. Besides the owner heartache, it will be just one more thing for your average Cummins or Duramax owner to point out...
I was also looking pretty hard at buying a Ram 2500 with the Cummins and as part of that I spent some time going through the Cummins/Ram forum. I realized that the nature of the things they complain about seemed a little different. There just didn't seem to be as much or any stories (written or You Tube video) of catastrophic engine failure on the 6.7L Cummins and if there was the owner admitted to being tuned/deleted. Exhaust valve failure on the early '11s, turbocharger failure, and now this. With the Cummins the average report seemed to be " ahh I got the check engine light again and went into limp mode....". Totally anecdotal, I know, but my impression none the less.
