I'm going to replace all four rotors this coming weekend. I'm looking at Motorcraft rotors, and there are multiple part numbers that come up as fitting my vehicle. I have an '04 EX with 6.0L in 4x4.
For the front disks I find: 1V125(BRR-89) or 1125(BRRF-103)
For the rear I find: 1V125(BRR-94) or 2C026(BRRF-102)
Do all of these fit? if so are the (102-103) better than the (89-94) disks? Everywhere I've found these there is about a $40 difference between them.
Also, I'm wanting to replace the brake hoses, any suggestions?
On an 04 EX you are due for the drivers front brake hose. As it delaminates internally you will notice that the caliper starts to drag. It is always the first to go.
Regarding rotors, I've only had good luck with OEM rotors where the lugs are tightened following a progressive increase in torque on an alternating pattern. My madness for new rotors is to start at 60ft pounds for a complete alternating pattern and then increase by 10ft pounds with a complete alternating pattern as you eventually move up to 120ft pounds. Yes, it takes a while. Then drive those bad boys hard to get a few good heat cycles in to cure things.
If you do a caliper, remember that you need the original box for the core charge reimbursement.
I use cryo-treated rotors. I tend to be hard on brakes and will warp OEM rotors within 12k miles.
When I switched to the cryo-treated slotted rotors from Frozen Rotors: High Performance Brake Pads and Brake Rotors - Frozen Rotors
I never had issue with warpage. They cost more, but it fixed my problem.
OP, I to have an '04 X. DBA rotors on all four are the only rotors that I have found to hold up. I tried OEM and Powerslot cryo front rotors and they warped. I tow a 6K lbs. boat in the summer and a 10k lbs. dump trailer. I also use Hawk brake pads with my DBA rotors. Outstanding stopping power with little to no brake dust. The rotors and pads are a little pricy but well worth the investment for reliability and safety. I also have the Russell SS brake lines on all four. One note on them. Throw the thin POS aluminum washers they send with them and get a good set of copper washer seals. The aluminum washers corroded due to road salt and both front calipers started leaking after one winter. I can't believe they make such a quality brake line and then give you a POS aluminum seal.

I've run into the same thing, only mine came with copper washers that were too hard and smooth I could not get a seal. Ended up going back to the dealer for the real thing, problem solved.
Suffice it to say I left an online review with less than stellar reviews. Not everyone lives 2 blocks from the parts stores and or dealer.
