A few engine component questions

Hey all, having a blast messing around with this old truck. I've replaced the ig. module (need to put some dialectic grease on it) and valve cover gasket, an have adjusted the curb idle down to 8k from 11 or so and the autochoke idle down from 20 to 14. Any reason why the PO may have had them so high?

I have I.D.d most components by looking over threads here, but have a few mysteries to solve

The red jack at top right is for a code reader, but what is the white jack to its side? Is this shiny part with the bear logo a solenoid?

What is the cylynder above the oil filter slightly to the right?

Pinstripe pic for 1985 Lariat, couldn't put a pic in a P.M. for some reason...
Thank you all, and let me know if that was too much to cram in one post.

The code reader connection takes two plugs, the single wire plug and the multi-wire plug. I don't know if that single one you are questioning is the right one though.

The piece with the bear on it is the starter solenoid. The key sends power to the red elbow connector, and then the solenoid connects the two large wires together. If you want to see how it works, MAKE SURE THE TRUCK IS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL, and then take a small wire and jump the red elbow connection on the solenoid to the large bolt connection on the left side of the picture(or touch it to the battery +) the engine will crank over. If you have the key in run it might start.

The round metal can with the single wire going to it is the oil pressure sending unit for the oil pressure gauge in the dash.
