Hi group, I recently purchased a f350 xlt with the 7.3 and banks turbo. It has an automatic transmission but sometimes when I come to a start it would jerk and go dead as if I were stopping a manual trasmission without using the clutch. Not sure how many miles it has cause the odometer doesn't work. Anyone who has experience with this please help
First thing should be diagnosing the odometer. These trucks use a digital speed signal that is processed by the PSOM (Programmable Speedometer Odometer Module) this signal is what helps run the E4OD transmission that you have, unless you have a C6 which is rare. If that signal isn't correct the transmission is getting incorrect information and could be causing your issues.
