Well that's it for me. I love the auto highbeams but it's too much on off.
Car comes..OFF. Car passes..ON. Car coming around the corner 2 seconds after..ON then OFF.
Driving in the fog..ON. It can't see lights or tail lights in the fog.
I turn them off by flicking he high beam switch...next car that comes by, back ON.
This is too much.
The wife's car's auto beams dont start working until you turn the beams on once, then they start working in automatic until they are flicked off with the high beam switch again.
Are mine working correctly on my truck? I would like a setting to set them. I still want them, but I want to control when to use them.
I thought they were something that I would never use either, but I really like them and they work great on my truck. I usually wouldn't even bother turning my high beams on as it's a hassle to look ahead to make sure I wasn't going to blind someone coming around a corner. Now I don't even think about it anymore and the lights work almost flawlessly. The fog is a problem though, and they need to be turned of for that.
Ya.. that's it.
But I want them..they are great for when you need them. Then they are automatic, no more forgetting and blinding on comers.
But they stink on roads where you absolutely DON'T need them.
Thus my point of I would like to control when I want them and not have to scroll through the menu to turn them on or off.
They must have went on and off 12 times tonight over 5 miles on a street that doesn't need high beams. Others must have thought I was flashing high beams warning of police ahead.
Next thing a cop will be on coming thinking I'm warning cars and pull me over.

Just wish it was easier to control.
Gotcha
I don't have mine yet so not sure on the sensitivity
They work great on my wife's 2017 Cadillac xt-5
When you want them to run in auto, just leave the headlight selector **** (the one down and to the left of your steering wheel) in auto to the far right. If you're in fog, blowing snow, or highly congested areas, just reach down and roll the headlight **** one position to the left and they will no longer be in auto, you'll then use the stick to go between high and low. You don't need to go into any menu's to disable them.
Good in theory AK...I already got that (unknown to me) info last week from someone.
As much as I tried not to, I left my lights on everytime I got to where I was going.
I guess I would rather have auto head lights then auto high beams.

I agree they take a bit to get used to and can be a bit annoying at times although as I use them more and more I get used to them and would miss not having them now. As noted you can turn them off and so far no one has blinked at me suggesting I was ticking them off.
I like them.
I didn't hold out much hope for them as my mother has them on her Lexus and I hate those. But I was pleasantly surprised driving the truck home the night I bought it.
Now that I have the highbeams on with the fogs, I love that they turn off automatically.
