Just dies

2002 ranger 3.0 with 60,000 miles. Will just die like key turned off. It has done it now 3 times twice while running down the road once idling. No code of any sort. Starts right back up. I say that one time I had to turn key all the way off then it started right back up. Anybody seen this before.

Same thing happened to my truck about 11 years ago. (I was on my way to pick up my daughter for my grandmother's funeral in 2005) My 98 has a large electrical connector under the truck in the area of the drivers seat. That connector handles every thing behind the cab, including the fuel pump. Discovered the problem by accident. (after I had it towed to a repair shop) It would run great in the shop but stalled out as soon as my butt hit the seat. Turned out that one of the bolts securing the seat to the frame was pushing against the connector. Put some dielectric grease in the connector and two washers under the head of the bolt (to shorten it up) and the problem was solved. It has never done it since. I have 268K on it now.
