I've had my present 20K Resse hitch for 15 years with two different trailers and trucks, the only thing I've done to it was replace the jaws but that was after 100K miles, I keep the pin greased now to stop any wear. I like to be able to back under the pin and if it's a little out of alignment the beveled edges on the head just guide the pin into the jaws unlike when I had my gooseneck trailer with a ball in the bed, it was a total PITA getting the ball lined up. They are a good solid hitch that will give years of service but like anything they have to be set up right first.

I flipped my handle years ago to clear a tool box.
