I just got my F250 Lariat yesterday, it was a special order. When I ordered the truck heated and cooled seats were listed as standard on the web site and in the brochure. Well my truck does not have them and it turns out they are now part of the value package. I did not order the value package since at the time it did not list anything that I really wanted. I was trying to figure out when the change was made but I'm not having much luck. Any ideas on what I can do? I just called the dealer but they don't appear to be much help.
I had been looking since October at the XLT and Lariat (ordered an XLT end of December). Heated seats were one of my requirements. The brochure and on-line info as of then all listed the heated/cooled seats as part of the Lariat value package
I am going through this now looking for a truck.
I think it's ridiculous that any company in 2017 puts leather interior in a vehicle without heated seats.
I had found a truck without the value package and when I read the specs in the brochure though it had heated seats. Luckily I learned that without the value package there are no heated seats.
Since packages were released in April, and even back to 2011, heated and cooled seats never came standard on a lariat, only lariat value and above. What literature said they come stock on a base lariat?

I agree. The standard Lariat never came with the heated and cooled seats. 2011-current same thing. I ordered my truck back in April and knew every option and code by heart. They absolutely never changed this package. You always needed the Lariat Value or Ultimate package to get heated and cooled seats. Heated seats alone were never offered on the Lariat.
Unless you order a Lariat in Canada. No value package here.
It appears pflugerjim is from TX...
There is not a whole lot you can do. If there was no deposit or signed agreement on the order, you could simply refuse the order. Unfortunately, it sounds like you took delivery.
Sometimes dealerships and sales reps will lead you astray...occasionally on purpose but oftentimes because they lack knowledge.
Most of us early order folks knew vastly more about this truck than anyone at the dealer. I know I did. On trucks you order, vs what you can see and drive on the lot, it really is your responsibility to know exactly what you are getting.
The info was available online from the beginning in the order guides, and also as soon as Build & Price came up. It sounds like there was a misunderstanding between you and the dealer, or some confusion on the brochure. Brochures often show pictures of "Lariat" interiors with many options shown...but that doesn't mean you get them just because it is a Lariat.
You can probably retrofit heated and cooled seats but it would be very expensive and uncharted territory. You could also trade the truck back in or attempt to privately sell it and start again with a new truck properly equipped.
Alternately, you could just drive and enjoy what you have. A "Base" Lariat is hardly a poorly equipped truck. If you are from TX, you probably wanted the cooled function more than the heated function. Well, they don't work that great anyway...I can tell you from experience, and I live up in NH where we don't nearly see TX heat.

Here is the page from the 2017 Super Duty brochure the dealer gave me when I was choosing what options to select. Everything I looked at while I was figuring out what to buy had heated and cooled seats. I haven't looked until recently and see that now it shows as part of the value package.
What date did you order your truck? I would check the order guide that was in effect when you ordered.
I would contend that if this was the current guide when you ordered, FMC owes you what is listed. How do you go about making that happen? Who knows....
That brochure is clearly wrong. While you *can* get the heated / cooled seats, it has never been that way. The original order guide showed the Lariat Value package was needed to get the heated / cooled option.
It's unfortunate the dealer showed you this. However, you can absolutely download that same brochure right now from the Ford site which indeed shows the same thing you have: heated / cooled leather as standard on a 2017 Lariat Super Duty.
However, build & price, plus the dealer order guides, have shown from Day 1 you needed the Value Pack to get the heated / cooled seats.
Perhaps with this in hand, explaining how you were misled by the brochure, the dealer might be willing to give you a small rebate, some free oil changes, warranty...something.
I have always known you had to order the Value Package to get heated/ cooled seats, I don't think it was ever different. However I am looking at the brochure I picked up last week and sure enough you're right it states heated and cooled seats are standard on a Lariat. I don't know how but I would fight this, good luck!
