So, we’re considering a 2019 F350 Lariat, but I’m a bit confused about the leather seat features.
Specifically, it’s my take that the base Lariat is fitted with 10-way power leather seats for both the driver and the front passenger. However, if I want heated (and cooled) front seats, then I have to order either the Value or the Ultimate option.
Unless something changed from the 2017s, that is correct. I don't think cooled is available with the value package though. I really like both heated and cooled on long drives. My wife LOVES the heated, a good 9 months out of the year!
I have a 2017 lariat that is not an ultimate that has heated/cooled leather seats. I thought it was standard in all lariat and higher trims? I have never seen a lariat without cooled seats.
The cooled seats is a topic I studied before ordering my ‘19. They are not on the base lariat; require value or ultimate.
I ended up going wild on my lariat build, but I’d recommend the Value package at a minimum. Otherwise might as well stick to an stx or xlt and plan on some katskinz.

This is a very accurate point. The base Lariat doesn't have some basic features an XLT Premium has. The XLT just doesn't have "it" with the rubber steering wheel, basic display and no auto dimming mirror. I know it costs money but the Lariat Ultimate is such a nice package. Push button start, remote start, the LED lighting is even a nice touch. Its all the stuff you don't think you want until you have it. Gosh, I hate renting cars now when traveling because I have to remember to get the key out!
Back to the seats, I went to check my book and it doesn't specifically call out value or ultimate, but I can tell you ever truck I test drove, base Lariat had neither, value Lariat had heated and ultimate had both. Must have just been how they were all ordered.
I can skip the cooled seats. And the katskinz leather is nicer by everything I’ve read and heard from other people. I got pretty much everything I wanted by ordering the f350 XLT prem package and adding the center counsel, sliding rear window, remote start, ultimate tow camera package, led box lights, upfitters, snow prep, 4:30 gears, extra, extra HD alternator, and duel battery. The seat heaters on the cloth seats are far hotter then the lariat seats. I also ordered and installed a Raptor wheel to replace the plastic XLT wheel (got the paddle shifters working today!). The led lights would have been nice, but you have to add $6000 grand or more on top of a base lariat to get them! There not THAT cool . Sticker on my truck was 53k, I got out the door paying $48k. The lariats are very nice, but you can upfit an XLT very nicely. I can buy leather for $580 (and yes I can do the install myself) if I decide I want it.
Every lariat I have seen doesn't have heated or cooled seats which is weird since the xlt premium package has the heated seats. You would think a lariat would have at least every option the xlt premium package has just as a base line. Every lariat with the "value" package I saw included: led box lighting, remote start, 10 way driver passenge seat with memory and heated/cooled seats all for $710.
Thanks for your direct answers and other comments. I agree that the MY2019 Order Guide appears to spec leather 10-way power front seats without heating/cooling for the "base" Lariat, and that the Value- or Ultimate package adds heating, cooling, and driver memory features.
Where I ran into difficulty was with the MY2018 Sales Brochure, which clearly (to me) indicates that heated/cooled 10-way power leather seats are standard on the Lariat:
Thanks again for helping clear up this matter, and I plan to confirm the answer with our salesman later this week. I also have some comments to add to the XLT Premium (our current 2017 F350's trim level) vs Lariat discussion, which I'll try to post later today.
Jim,
just keep in mind most dealers don’t know what they’re talking about when you get into the weeds on this. In four dealers I’ve dealt with not one has studied the materials in the detail I have.
Generally speaking, I’d say that you make a fair and accurate point. When we ordered our 1997 F-150, we got to the point where our salesman gave me his dealership’s detailed configuration guides and told me to call him when I had figured out what I wanted vs. what was available.
The very experienced salesman for our 2017 F350 seems to know his stuff, so we’re dealing with him again. My plan is to physically go through a base Lariat and a Lariat VP on his lot when we meet with him this week.
I am in Canada and here we don't get an option for the Lariat Value. It is Lariat base or Lariat Ultimate. On my 2017 build I ordered the base Lariat and my seats are both heated and cooled. Just came back from a road trip and used the cooling feature and it was very cool with the leather seats.

This makes more sense, who wants and Lariat with leather and no heated seats. Plus the value package is only like $700.
