my box is in reasonably good shape, but the floor has seen better days. anybody replace a floor in your bed? is it welded in from below to the bedsides? being a long box, I'm sure I could find another in better shape, but i'd kinda like to keep this one since the orig paint is still on it and pretty decent.
I heard that only patch panels can be had for the beds that don't match up to good on the corrugated bed flooring. I've seen a guy on here do is in wood.
Other have welded in a flat sheet metal panels with, other doing theirs in aluminum diamond 1/8" plate.
I gotta replace a section on my 71 F250... not looking forward to it cuz that means I gotta work on my back with a spot weld cutter above me. I'm thinking if center-drilling the welds from underneath and applying the spot weld cutter from above.... at least I'll have a pilot hole to work with and I can weld the patch from above.
... Thus far I have always found something else better to do. Meanwhile, it's covered up with a rubber bed mat to keep the rain away.
Does anyone know if dentside bed floor corrugation matches bumpside bed floor corrugation?
(What I'm really trying to ask is if I could cut patch panels out of the bed floor of my dentside parts truck and use them to patch the floor of my bumpside.)
I know that the edges curve up on the dentside bed... but apart from that, I mean...just interested in cutting out patch panels.
Really I need to just get out the calipers and check it. I just never think about it when I'm home and have time... I keep too many projects going on.

I can't help much. I can tell you that Dentside bed floors were Dentside part numbers. And Bumpside bed floors were Bump part numbers. Neither being replaced by the other. But ANYTHING different, small or large, would mean a different part number. A patch may work. I can't tell.
FWIW, you can buy patch panels that MAY or MAY NOT match your bed profile. The same applies to cutting sections from other (used) beds. The reason being as more beds were produced, the dies tended to wear and the profiles went bye bye over time. Same applies to 'replacement/patch panels' and even more so with overseas junk and thickness differences, much less discussing the quality of the steel.
Unknown why no one mfg's a complete bed pan but I suspect its the cost, low return rate and shipping costs. I'd be willing to bet a one time sale could net a few hundred if new but??? Kind of like our tailgates for $500 bucks that are crap repo's. There's a market but where's the return on the investment to mfg. them? I inquired into having these hydroformed but never heard back from the hydroformer. I guess because I only wanted 500 units made.
Aside from the above, patch panels from old beds or aftermarket and hope the thickness/profile matches. It's a crap-shoot!
You 'might' get lucky and find a complete bed pan from a wrecked truck.
