1975 F250 4x4 with a C6 transmission.
The bezel on the steering column is loose; and it just about pops off starting from the right side every time I put the truck in park.
I figured there must be some broken catch on the bezel and ordered a new one, cheap enough at $20.00.
Got the new one today and replaced the original.
Same results, left side is tight, but the right side pops up every time i put the truck in park.
Before I go digging into the column itself to learn how this bezel is supposed to be held, is there something that should be anchoring this right side that i'm missing?
Thanks in advance
Tbruz
The bezel just snaps in, there is no screw or rivet you could tinker with. I would check and make sure your pointer is seated correctly. It will be held to the shift collar with a little spring clip.
While you are there you can make sure your shift indicator is seated correctly as well. Should be pinched in there with the two rivets.
You should be able to jiggle and check all of these by popping of the cover and poking around, no real disassembly required.
