My F-450 is due in next week, interested in if TPMS exists on the '17 450 and disabled and the factory. I see other threads with solutions for trailers, and my local tire shop says they have a valve sensor if the TPMS features are active. Hoping we can get it working.
If anyone has attempted to enable it, let us know your results.
Also thanks to everyone for their knowledge and discussion.
I purchased ODBlink WIFI and USB to try. However, my ETA was updated to add ten days. The F-450 lacking TPMS is the only surprise I have come across without having the truck.
Sub'd, I will try this today as I want to add TPMS to the 450 and I have the trailer TPMS kit with two additional sensors on order, if I can get 12 pressures on the dash I will be VERY happy.
For the sensors in the wheels, I have a few ideas luckily since I did custom/aftermarket wheels for 9 years, I think I can get the sensors to do their job if it can indeed be turned on.

I've been dog f'in sorry, swamped with work, but this afternoon I got off along with tomorrow so truck is getting a clean and I am going to try out this 450 TPMS and the mirror mod and finally get back to you guys. All I think I'll be able to do is active the screen right now, if it looks like it will work I can drop by the sensor shop on Tuesday and see if we can get some sensors to link up before I buy them.

I really appreciate that. My truck is supposed to arrive in a week.
Helping to bring this back to the top, has anyone tried the experiment yet? My 450 is on order and would love to figure out how to utilize TPMS. BTW, Can we still do the trailer TPMS with the 450's?
Well, now that I have a nice Job #2 F450 and ForScan, I tried setting the flag to enable the TPMS (as expected, the flag was in the "disabled" state vs the 'default' "enable" state shown in the spreadsheet.) Flag set, truck started, nothing changed... still no TPMS screen - oh well...
Thanks for that report 2009kr. I guess we should not be surprised. Although I had hoped that we would see some change in the screen menu choices.
I'm guessing that there is a hardware module, the TPMS receiver, that has also been omitted from our trucks since there are no sensors in the wheels, there was no point to include it.
Ultimately, I'm thinking we'll have to wait and see if Ford figures out a way to put this back in future module years and then see if we can add back in whatever they do at that point. I'm also guessing this is not a high priority for Ford.
It might be a change in the IPC which Forscan can't write to yet. The options show up like the DPF screen but they can't be changed with Forscan... yet. But IPC write should be functional in future releases. So there is hope. I'm betting a dealer could turn it on with IDS as well if they knew where to look. Whether or not the receiver is there as Steve mentioned could be another issue.
