Is that red carabiner for your brake cable? If so you need to connect your brake cable to the rails not the hitch. If the hitch happens to break and come loose then your brakes won't engage.

You could probably leave the pins that hold the hitch to the adapter plate out and the hitch still wouldn't come out.
The concern for that hitch would be the head assembly or the head mount failing.

Had a couple of those in the bed of the truck along with some hitch pins and hung them on there to get them off the floor when working in the bed. I attach my brake wire to a tie down next to my electrical connection.
Here's my TS3 Trailer Saver and adapter and as said, yea they are heavy, combined right at 400 lbs. My engine hoist makes it easy though, yea they are expensive.....if you buy them new. After a LOT of looking I bought this barely used 4 yr. old hitch for $1300 shipped to the house. The adapter plate I found on Ebay ...... $55 !! the shipping cost more than the plate. I would NEVER go back to a non- air bag hitch.
