Know I want to pull some bigger travel trailers, but have a basicly ignorant question: Is there a setup where the wheel itself easily comes off (for switching types of hauling I want to do)?
Also, is there a combo 5th wheel and goose-neck setup?
Both [link:www.reesehitch.com/gooseneck_goose.html|Reese] and [link:www.reesehitch.com/HH50036_goose.html|Hidden Hitch] make a gooseneck ball plate that uses the same mounting rails as a fifth-wheel. Just pull the four pins on the 5th-wheel and set it aside. Then, put the pins into the gooseneck plate and you're ready to hitch up and go.
There's also this cool little number made by Putnam: [link:www.reesehitch.com/FIREl_23k.html|Firehawk II]
You might check out www.turnoverball.com. They have a gooseneck ball set up that you can get a 5th wheel plate to replace the ball. I don't know how well it would work though. I like the gooseneck set up and I'm planning on getting one installed when I get my F-250.
I have a B&W (www.turnoverball.com) in all three of my superdutys with the 2 5/8" ball. You will love the way you can turn the ball over to make a flat area in the bed to haul everything else.
