I just put all new injectors with new starter and batteries in my truck, it runs great when warm but the cold start electro gizmo is not working anyhow this truck when it got hot used to not start and I was going to do the injector pump immediately.
Should I do it now or wait till it acts up again, how much better does a new pump help the way it runs and fuel mileage ? My injectors were shot, could this have been the reason for my starting problems and not having new batteries with a new starter. I have a feeling I need a new pump and winter is hiding it.
The truck not wanting to start when the pump is hot is definitely a sign you need a new pump. I would replace it as soon as possible. Waiting would only delay the inevitable and could leave you stranded.
As far as fuel mileage the pump and injectors have everything to do with it and will also affect starting. It's recommended to replace pump and injectors at the same time.
Edit: Adding the new injectors probably helped show symptoms of an ailing pump even more since a weak pump can have trouble building enough pressure to open a brand new injector.
I am debating on weather to get a RnD or not but people say his stuff is the best I try and deal in my local economy however. I still get a good bit of white smoke at start up
everyone has their own personal preference for pump and injector rebuilder.
and there all "the best" lol
if the truck runs, don't tear it apart until you have the items to replace.
if youre doing a complete engine rebuild, I like to build a separate block then simply transplant it
