So the cover pad does not require removal of the windshield?
If I read your kind response correctly the cover pad and the metal dash are two separate components. And, the cover pad is screwed/bolted to the metal dash. Since I'm not interested to remove the metal dash I may be in luck as far as removal of the windshield is concerned.
I'm only interested to remove the cover pad as it is cracked.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Thiers about (8) 3/8" or 7/16" nuts on the dash pad studs, I just put in a new dash pad last summer. The end corner nuts are the hardest to get off, I used a 1/4" little 1/4" ratchet set.
