Black Door Pillar Plastic Swirl marks

Ok, who has experienced the swirl mark scratches on the black door pillars yet on their Crew cab.

Any solutions on how to polish them out?

Suntek, Xpel, any of the clear films applied to black plastic pillars solves the issue. Have done it on a few of my other vehicles and the new 350.

Installer custom cut for the pillars. No charge with all the other work we had done. It's not much material.

I wonder if these panels just snap on and off? I have the rough plastic version rather than the painted ones. I would like to replace them if they become available.

Would love to see some photos when you are able to install them. I will either go this route or just have them covered in the xpel or 3m film.

I have never washed nor done anything to my truck and it already has loads of small marks on the black plastic pillars. Dealership has washed it about 5 times. Once for every time it goes in for issues.

It really is shocking they allowed to manufacturing to proceed without at least washing the mockup truck a few times.

The Putco Black platinum overlays run just shy of $200. What is the typical cost of having xpel or suntek applied? tks

Interested in this also, as the two places locally who deal in the clear bra type products did not have a clue what I was referring to when I asked about pricing for these parts only on the new SD.

I polished mine with my Rupes polisher and some correcting polish. Took about 10 minutes. They're not perfect yet, but much better. The dealer put so many scratches on them they were almost opaque!

I did the exact same thing on Saturday. The finish is extremely soft though, I wasn't able to get 100% of the swirls out, maybe 80% and I called it good. I didn't want to step up to a more abrasive polish. I was on a white polish pad and did notice a little color pickup when polishing.

Dropped it off for Xpel this week and will have those done to protect them.
