Just curious if anybody else has the same temps that I do. Above 0 Cel.(32F.) 145 F-165 F. even in summer towing. Winter when it gets -20 my trans temp gets warmer (not towing 165.F or higher) When it gets to -30 my trans temp gets to 175 F. or higher I have never looked at trans temps before on any vehicle that I have owned. I like that these trans get warmer when it is cold out and colder when it is hot out.
I have noticed that the truck has lost another injector #6 . Only happens below 200#. #6 is going out. It sometimes has no power. I can not believe how gutless a V-8 can be when it only has 7 cyl working. I thought the fuel had gelled. But I have since figured out that it is # 6 when warmed up to 200# it runs fine. When it has no power (the first 1 hr of easy driving and then the road climbs) is when I realise that the truck has no power. I mean 3/4 throttle 23# lbs boost 30 mph .I am getting the finger, honked at ,etc, F350,s suck .But if I stop and let it idle for 20 mins or so it is back to full power
Your transmission temperatures sound OK. Mine are somewhere around 165 after the truck has warmed up.
The lack of power sounds like a fuel restriction. A single injector should not limit you to 30 MPH. Recommend checking both the primary and secondary filters. If they are clean, a fuel pressure test might be in order.
I agree with Lou Braun, fuel restriction. I had a low power situation a couple of winters ago when I was working in Michigan. Took it in and had the fuel filters changed, ran fine after that.
I did get #6 contribution code but I will check all of the above. I do not think that it is filters [ maybe 6000 miles on them plus I fuel out of my own 1000 gal tank that has it"s own fuel filters] It only does this first thing in the morning. The rest of the day it runs normal. Thanks for the advice.
