I-Beam Drop Brackets
Recently I installed a 2.5" leveling kit on my 2003 F-250 2WD using the steel spacers underneath my front coil springs. I read hundreds of these thread and was confident I knew everything this project was going to entail: longer shocks, pain in the butt coil retaining nut, eccentric bushings to adjust camber, etc. But I got it all taken care of and my truck looks great. Except of course for the serious camber adjustment that needed to be made. But I expected as much and my first trip was to Gateway Tire for an alignment.
When they got my truck up on the lift, the guy called me in there to show me how off camber my wheels were and began to explain how there is no way to get them aligned even if they used the adjustment bushings. He said they normally just grind away a little bit, but it would be a ton of grinding for this particular case and he discouraged that option due to a potential integrity compromise with that much grinding, plus the money I'd spend on labor for hours of grinding. I could tell enough by what I saw that he wasn't just trying to get out of doing it.
Anyways, all that to say, he recommended installing some drop brackets for my twin I beam axle to bring it down enough to be able to adjust the alignment. I figured that would be an easy enough install that I could knock out in time to get the truck back to him in a few days. The problem is, I cannot find any drop brackets for my truck (2003 2WD) anywhere and I don't know how specific the brackets have to be in order to fit my truck. Anyone know of anything that might help me out?
This is my 2nd post on here and I was very encouraged by the responses I got from my first post. Any help is greatly appreciated.
