I've got an 84 F150 4x4 TTB. I put 2" Daystar spacers in te front to level it out. I took it to the shop to get the truck aligned, but the alignment guy told me that I need drop down brackets. However, I cannot find anyone that sells 2" drop down brackets. I've heard of others using adjustable camber bushings. Others say that this won't work. What do I need to do? Thanks.
Tuff Country has them for a 1.5 to 2.5" lift for around $149 and I think SuperLift does also. These work on 80-96 F150. They are called Alignment brackets or axle pivot brackets.
Superlift has adjustible camber/caster bushings that allow adjustment for +/- 2.75 degrees. I measured and did the trigonometry and +2.75 of extra camber degrees should accomidate up to 2.5" of lift. The leftover gets rotated into caster. $35+ shipping from summit racing. My Tuff Country lift arrives tomorrow so I can give you a report on how good the brackets look/ how they are built. If you were in SE Wisconsin, I could do your alignment for free.
Oops, Christmas and building presents in the woodworking shop kept me away from the computer for a few days. The brakets are quite beefy, and are in my opinion well built- much better than the stock brakets. They have a powder coat finish that seems like it should stand up to the elements- a salty Wisconsin winter should determine if the finish is as good as is looks! II'm planning on installing the lift the weekend after newyears, and doing the alignment on monday or tuesday of next week. I'm estatic that I'm not going to need to remove the rusted corroded bushings, and also my balljoints because the threads are almost gone due to rust.
