Sorry petei I can't reply to emails or send pms on this forum for some reason.
I installed on a 2006 350 and a 2009 350. The Reese might be a little different then the ford setup, even though I think it's made by Reese.
I didn't have to lift the bed at all. I was able to get the rails in, but the instructions said to lift the box a 1/2". It was very minimal, just to slide the one end of the rail in sideways.
It was all rather easy.
