HEEELP! - Exhaust Valve Stem Caps

I posted this in the small block W forum but not sure if anyone there can answer this and I really do need help this time. Sorry about this!

How do you remove the exhaust valve stem caps to remove the Exhaust valve spring?!!!
Does this take a special tool? I have the valve spring compressed but the cap is on there but good, keeping me from pulling the spring.

I swapped an intake spring without a problem because they have the regular locks. How do I remove the cap, my book just say's remove it! A lot of good this book is!

They just pull off. Sounds like for some reason they are just stuck. Try tapping it with a plastic or bronze hammer...LIGHTLY.
I would try tapping on the sides first and then on the top. Good Luck!

Thanks guy.
I found out they are rotators, not caps. For anyone else doing this, all you have to do is grab a screwdriver and knock them down. The keepers actually hold them up.

Note to self; don't drop the keepers, they are hard to find in the gravel!

Glad you got them figured out.
