cigarette lighter question
just replaced my cigarette lighter, the old one had a light bulb on the canister(lighter body) under the dash, not sure what that would be for, it clipped to the lighter body but don't see what it would be useful for?
i am sure it had value just not sure for what

Yeah I figured it was kind of important to be able to see where to replace it in the dash after using it since it would have been hot. The replacements that I have gotten from the aftermarket suppliers don't have the provision for the bulb housing so they are useless. I have had to buy new oem ones off of e-bay and they are the correct ones. Casco is the original supplier I believe.

The idea was probably so the operator didn't take his eyes off the road too long trying to jam the lighter back in the receptacle.
