I waxed it probably close to once every two weeks until winter. The brown dots are iron, apparently. They don't go through the paint...but they look like garbage.

Maybe it varies by geography. A co-worker's light silver Subaru had the same iron dots along the bottom of the doors, etc...she was panicking her new car was rusting out.
