well... this happened on the way to work this morning. Typing this from the tow truck now. Noticed white smoke coming up from underneath my truck. Got out and the undercarriage was lined with transmission fluid.
Has anyone had this problem yet in the 2017s?
Also, I noticed it's spotted on a lot of plastic trim pieces. Will this damage the plastic?
I believe it is a known issue on the transmission return line failing. Correct me guys if I am wrong. I am wondering if this is just a Powerstroke issue or if it could happen on gassers too?
The line on my truck wasn't locked in place. As I was installing my lift I noticed it and locked her in. Surprised the pressure didn't pop it off and create a mess.
Happened to mine last night, 5700 mile mark. Started shifting erratically, sat over night, fluid leaked out and then would not shift into gear. Towed to a dealership this morning and they said the transmission return lines are leaking. Apparently the parts are on back order with no time estimate given today of when the parts will be available, hopefully the timeline will be updated tomorrow with a better estimate.
Currently without new truck, without transportation, waiting on Ford....
