Sorry bud. I just saw this post. I'm in Gig Harbor now. Gonna visit the Grandma for the day.

So how did it go? Looking forward to the May meetup, hopefully in the first week or so of the month.

Western WA is definitely not a "truck town", the metrosexual hippies with their Priuses have trashed the place pretty good. Still, as long as there is a consistent showing from month to month of even two, I believe the meet ups will gain traction.

It's unfortunate that some don't want to meet at a restaurant, after all, restaurants have big parking lots (and food). If someone did have space and willingness to have a bunch of strangers over at their place, that's great too. It's also monumentally harder to arrange. More options will present themselves as people get coming on a regular basis.

For now, thanks Yahiko, for doing what can be done.

Not bad we had seating for 6 and we had 4 people show up. The table we got could of held 8.

It was nice meeting all the new faces at the somewhat monthly meet.

So when and where do we want to try for the next one?

If you get some addresses then we can see how everyone feels.
Are you thinking of more of a longer day type meet?

This should link to the Summit Pancake House at Snoqualmie. Good spot. Timing allowing, I'm in. I don't have a hard date yet for my departure for AK other than "mid-May". If we could establish a hard date for the meetup, I can probably schedule my flight out to be after the meet though.

Spitballing an idea... the drive is pretty nice through there, we could conceivably meet at the pancake house then cruise fun-run style to any number of scenic locations within an hour or two drive. My kids want to go camping while I'm home, so a landing spot with a fire pit and campground would hit multiple birds in one shot for me. Mm, planked salmon over an open fire pit is the bomb!

I "Was" going to say the 13th but with Mother's day on the 14…
So that leaves us with the 6th or the 20th. That is unless all the
Moms want to get out also.

Haha! Talk about a tough sell! I can imagine the "you must be stupid" look already. Good reminder on Mothers Day though. Gifting for these things is so much more expensive if she has to tell me what I got her.
So the 6th is good for me, 20th not so much.

The 6th could work for me.

Edit: Mother's day weekend we will be busy, the following as well. Don't plan this around me though.

Thanks for the reference. I think that would be great.

Good idea on the drive and scenery.

6th would work for me, I just wouldn't be able to stay long. Wife has that weekend off with me. Not that she will coming.
