The blower motor has given up the ghost in my '57 F100. Having trouble finding a replacement 2 speed motor anywhere. The LMC offering is not a match, it's a 4 speed with a longer shaft. Any ideas on something that I can make work? 1/4" shaft, roughly 3" x 3" housing. Thanks!

What exactly quit on it ? Bushings wear out ? Armature failure ? or are the brushes toast.? The Brushes can be replaced if that is what has worn out.

NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 3 = 972-937-2201.
I haven't cracked it open. Still runs, just squeals like crazy.
It may just need cleaned and the bushings re-lubricated As long as there is not excessive play in the bushings this can be fixed for basically zero dollars.
That is the great thing about these old trucks, you can actually take things apart and fix them, Running out and buying a crappy chinese replacement part is the last option for me. I have disassembled my dimmer switch, cleaned it up and made it work fine, same with the heater blower switch. Even fuel pumps were made to be rebuilt and there were kits so you could do it yourself.
I have even made blower motor brushes by filing down some from something else to make them fit.
Just for info. I shopped around trying to find a good replacement. Then read several comments about old motors being better. Took another look at mine for the '59. Cleaned it up and it ran perfectly. Made me think about an old frozen up one I had on the shelf. Locked tight. I took Wd40 and sprayed it into the motor several times and it gradually loosened until it would spin. Hooked it up to my drill motor bat and it ran. Now to get that squirrel cage off. Can't throw it away now.
