I replaced injector couple weeks ago. I hooked up to livelink thru sct because it was throwing a low voltage for ficm code. It is staying at 48 volts tho. I don't see any voltage from my glow plug relay, and I have a low voltage for my egr valve. Is it just bad luck that everything broke at once or is there a fuse or a connector that I forgot to plug in any help would be appreciated thanks
Wanted to say this earlier but stupid computer wouldn't let me respond. I agree though if it's running fine perhaps leave it alone. Unless it's doing something out of the ordinary.
48v on FICM is perfect so nothing to be worried there unless it's dipping. Not sure about the other measurement your asking about.
Yes it's running and seems to be running ok. The po611 ficm performance code is what worried me because I don't want that to burn up my injectors. It smokes when I cold start it, so I thought maybe check glow plug volts and it's not reading on live scan. Is there a simple way to test the relay ?
If you've got a 611 code on a non-voltage modified FICM, you have a FICM issue. If your voltage is solid (and it sounds like it is), it may be that the issue is with the logic side of the unit.
We've never seen a bad FICM relay be the culprit for a 611 code, though have seen bad relays kill FICM's (meaning that it is a good idea to just replace the silly thing every 100k for good measure.
If you wanted to resolve your FICM issue, we could either set you up with a unit on exchange or could repair yours.
Regardless of which path you elect, just remember that FICM's never die - they are always killed. As such, I'd strongly suggest pulling your alternator and batteries and having them load tested on a bench at the local auto parts store.
