Cutting Out
Hey guys,
It seems that the only time I post here is with a problem. I thank everyone that has helped, but am back with a new one.
It seems that every time the motor is run at more than an idle, upon release of throttle, the motor will stall.
Seems to run fine at cruise, or testing in the drive, but as soon as the throttle is released, it will sputter and die if not throttled up fast. Releasing the throttle SLOW deeps it from doing this. Has me puzzled.
Any thoughts??
Thanks in advance

Might be. If nothing else works(i.e. worn out pump), you can get around it by adjusting the 'guide stud' at the back of the IP in all the way. This screw is under a plastic cap(usually red) that /will not/ come off without totally destroying it.
You then loosen the lock-nut, and tighten the screw in basically all the way; this seems to affect how the governor works.
It worked on mine when I had that problem after the truck sat for a while. Adjusted it, and while it would still 'droop' a little when letting off the throttle quickly, it wouldn't die.

Sticky part inside the pump. I had that happen to my 93 when I started driving it. I'd go to a stop sign, hit the clutch and it would stall.
Pull and drain the fuel filter. Refill it with ATF or dieselklean and reinstall. Start the truck and run it for 30 seconds, then shut it down and let sit overnight or longer. Should clear it right up.
