my 2000 f 250 is not going into 4x4....
with key off I get power to both relays under hood in one spot (green wire)
with key on 4 high relay has power in three spots no matter where swith on dash is positioned... seemed odd
other relay only has power in one spot no matter where the switch on dash is positioned.... switch was tested and draws voltage thru scan tool.
is it normal for the relay to have power like that?
all relays are new and I switched them back and forth with same results....
also no power at shift motor on trans case.
could this be the GEM module?
any help is much appreciated! Thanks Aaron
The relay female socket will have only one hot wire. the relay is the switch to distribute the power when it is installed. I it is not install power does not go any where. On a bench put 12 volt power to terminal 86 than a ground wire to terminal 85 you should get a click as the connections are made the should be continuity between 30 and 87 disconnect 86 or 85 continuity should be lost if all this works your relay is O K
