Over the past 2 or 3 years it seems like there have been a lot more performance threads. Do you all think it would be a good idea to start a performance sub forum? If nothing else, it would make it easier to search for performance oriented threads.
I don't think it's really necessary given how slow most builds progress, the performance sub forum would be a very slow section. Also I like having it all in one place, helps break up the monotonous "pre-powerstroke won't start" threads.
Personally I don't think that an IDI performance specific forum would get a whole lot of traffic,
This might be good; it would keep performance/build threads visible and easier to find, vs a thread dropping by a couple of pages in a short period of time.

This would be great; it's kind of annoying when people do their build threads on Facebook or something(which I'll never see or sign up for)... but that's their choice.

IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. there is only one performance sub forum, the Performance & General Engine Building forum.
if you want a performance thread, make one and we can make it a stickie. the only time a new forum or sub forum is opened is for new body styles or new engines.

So just because YOU don't want one means we will NEVER have one?
And why can't we have a simple poll to see what the majority of US would prefer? Just because it might go against what YOU think is best?

So change isn't possible? Like the fact that 5 years ago 250HP out of an IDI was unthinkable and parts would scatter if it was ever reached? A 400HP IDI is a whole 'nother engine compared to the run of the mill NA or Banks IDI with a worn out injection system.
I guess I just hang around the Cummins forums too much where major performance work is commonplace and "Help - Truck Won't Start" threads are scarce.

This is BS. The '61-'63 Unibody sub-forum was created in 2011 - a long time after FTE was started and WAY after unibodies were introduced.
Maybe a compromise would be having a couple of performance threads linked in a sticky that is blatantly marked as something like: "PERFORMANCE IDI THREADS" with a subnote saying something about how "no start" threads aren't allowed

no, i am just telling you it will never happen i have no say in the matter.

and you have no idea how long it took for that to happen. it was not just a "we want it so it happened overnight" thing.
AND the 61-63 unibody sub forum has more than 3 or 4 posters in it, don't it?
