4 tire towing

Can I tow my F250 diesel 4x4 four wheels down behind my RV? If so, is there anything specifically I need to do in order to not damage the truck?

Brakes.??? from MH to truck.

most states anything being towed over 3,000 pounds needs remote controlled brakes. with emergency breakaway system

check ford's towing guide to see if you can tow your truck with wheels down.

Only with manual shift transfer case vehicles, not Electronic Shift-On-the-Fly or 4x2 vehicles.

Transmission in neutral, manual transfer case shifted into neutral.

If you have the electronic shift 4X4 system, one could tow it by dropping the rear drive shaft, and make sure the front hubs are in the "auto" position. PITA.....for sure!! If it has the manual 4X4 stick selector, shift it to N, transmission to N, hubs to "Free" or "Unlock".
Good luck!

What they all said. Otherwise don't do it. Historically only the Fords with manual transfer case are true four wheel down tows. I think the owner's manual should cover this and, as Chuck said, supplemental braking system is necessary.

From the 2015 Owner's Manual, would assume similar in the 2013 manual.

Two-wheel Drive Vehicles and Four-wheel Drive Vehicles Equipped with an Electronic-shift Transfer Case

Do not tow your vehicle with any wheels on the ground, as vehicle or transmission damage may occur. It is recommended to tow your vehicle with all four (4) wheel off the ground, such as when using a car-hauling trailer. Otherwise, you cannot tow your vehicle.

Four-wheel Drive Vehicles Equipped with a Manual-shift Transfer Case

1. Put the transmission in position N.
2. Put the transfer case in position N.
3. Put the hub locks in the FREE position.

Always make sure that both hub locks are set to the same position.
